Grocery Shopping

Please read these product terms and conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms under which Amleya makes the products available to you ("Product Terms"). 


Placing an Order

To place an order, you need to sign up using the Amleya App. Upon signing up, you will provide us with all the required personal information to successfully complete your order. 

We will use your phone number to contact you regarding your order in relation to its status or should there be any issues related to the purchase. Once the order is placed, you will receive notifications with tracking information about the status of the order.

All provided personal information will be kept strictly confidential. Please read our Privacy Policy. 


Prices and VAT

Please note that the prices on our application are guide prices only. The actual price you pay will be the price charged in-store at the time your order is picked for delivery. 

The actual order value cannot be determined until the day of delivery because the prices stated on the website may vary either above or below the prices in-store on the day your order is picked and delivered.

All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The price of the items does not include the delivery charge which will be charged at the rate specified when you place your order.


Availability

If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you. When an item you have ordered is unavailable we will attempt to deliver a suitable substitute, unless you have asked us not to.

To ensure availability of all our products customers may be limited to a maximum number of items.

Acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is only formed when we have dispatched your order. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you.

The Amleya grocery service is available for non-commercial and domestic use only. We reserve the right to refuse orders from businesses or that we consider are for commercial or other non-domestic concerns.


Basket 

The minimum basket value is 3,000,000 L.L., if all items are priced in LBP, or 25 USD, if at least one item is priced in US dollars, for home delivery.

Unfortunately, we can’t combine separate orders once we have processed them, so please make sure you make any changes to increase the value of your basket before you confirm your order. You can place one order per day. 

We reserve the right to decline processing any order that shows “questionable” ordering pattern. In this event, we will contact you before proceeding with the order. 


Delivery

Delivery will be made to the address specified by you when you place your order. Delivery charges start at a minimum of 1,5 USD and vary depending on the location that the order will be delivered to. 

We will deliver your order to the main entrance of the delivery address. We always reserve the right to deliver only to the main entrance of the delivery address.

For deliveries to customers at a business address, we can deliver to the ground floor communal entrance of your business, but unfortunately, we are not able to come to your desk. 

If your business has a shared ground floor reception, this is where we will deliver your shopping.

Please note that we deliver goods only to specified regions within Lebanon.

Delivery times will be determined at the time of placing your order.

All goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over.

Amleya follows an age-restricted policy when delivering age-restricted items, so if the person receiving the goods looks under 18, proof of age will be requested. If proof is not available and there is no-one of that age at the address when delivery is being made, the goods will be retained by the driver. 

If we attempt to deliver your order to the delivery address as arranged with you but there is nobody at the delivery address to accept your order, the driver will leave notification of attempted delivery and you will need to contact our Customer Service Centre to re-arrange delivery (see below for contact details).

In these circumstances, if we have to return to deliver the goods, a further charge may become payable provided that delivery is attempted at the agreed time.

Whilst we make every effort to deliver all your goods in the agreed time, we will not be liable if we fail to do so in part or in full due to circumstances beyond our control.


Amleya Loyalty Card

To get a Amleya Loyalty Card, check the option in the Account Management settings in the application, or upon check out. You can only request a card if you do not have any one saved to your account. 


To gather points, make sure that you add your Amleya Loyalty Card number to your profile in “Account Management”. 


Alternatively, you may visit one of our branches.


Returns and Refunds

We would like you to be happy with everything you purchase from Amleya. An item* can be returned at any of our branches and a refund will be issued in the form of a voucher or “cash back” added to your Amleya Loyalty Card, if returned within 3 days of purchase. 


Returned items must be in the original, sealed packaging. Proof of purchase, i.e. receipt, must be presented along with the item to be returned. No return will be processed without the proof of purchase. 


*Nonreturnable items include tobacco as well as cosmetics, make-up, meat, poultry, fish, fresh products and dairy products. 


Amleya Loyalty Card points redeemed during the purchase will not be reimbursed to the card upon return of item. 


Delivery costs are nonrefundable.

Cancellation

You can cancel any of your current orders up until the amendment cut-off point specified in your order confirmation, that is before the order’s status is marked as “being processed”.

Payment

We offer Cash on Delivery (COD) as an option for payment. Please make the payment ready to hand the courier once your delivery is made. 


An adult (over 18 years of age) needs to sign the receipt to confirm delivery and payment. 


Payment for COD will be accepted in the local currency LBP and in US dollars, based on the LBP to USD rate on the day of delivery .


Refunds and exchanges for all items purchased with COD are issued in store.



General

These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Lebanese Republic and any disputes will be decided only by the Lebanese Courts.

If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
